Mary Nyanjuki Manana is a seasoned expert in strategic, livelihoods, and change management, boasting over 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles, institutional development, and stakeholder management. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Management and Sustainability from the University of South Wales, an M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Uganda Christian University, and an M.Phil. in Environmental Studies from Moi University, Kenya. Additionally, she earned a B.Ed. (Honors) in Business/Economics from Kenyatta University, Nairobi.

Mary’s career has been marked by a series of significant accomplishments across various organizations and institutions. Notably, she played a pivotal role in establishing Livingstone International University as the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, overseeing the admission of its inaugural students. She also served as the Registrar at Africa International University, where she managed academic matters and led research initiatives.

In her current role as Principal at Uganda Christian University Mbale University College, Mary serves as the chief finance, administrative, and academic officer. She is responsible for managing all aspects of the university’s revenue and expenditure, providing strategic guidance to senior management, and overseeing performance management and capacity building initiatives.

Throughout her career, Mary has demonstrated expertise in a wide range of areas, including human resource management, financial management, project management, and environmental impact assessment. She has successfully mentored women in business, chaired local resource mobilization committees for NGOs, and facilitated the establishment of savings and credit organizations for university staff.

Mary is also an accomplished researcher and consultant, with numerous publications and conference papers to her credit. Her research interests include human resource development, sustainable development, entrepreneurship, and environmental management.

Beyond her professional achievements, Mary is actively involved in community work and volunteer activities. She serves on the boards of several organizations focused on tree planting, rehabilitation of street children, and support for disadvantaged communities. She is also a dedicated member of the Uganda Red Cross Society and has volunteered her time for various charitable causes.
